By registering here, you are signing up to TRYOUT for the Central York Middle School baseball team. The team will be comprised of 7th and 8th graders who reside in Central York School District.
We are asking for a $25 registration fee. We will provide a tshirt for tryouts. The full registration fee for the season will only be collected once teams are selected.
Our current plan is to field two teams of 15 players. We are planning to have a 7th grade and an 8th grade team. This may be different from how other districts intend to field teams, and that's ok. We believe this approach is the best approach to maximize players time and provide feedback for their future endeavors at the high school level.
The middle school season WILL NOT replace the standard 13-16u Rec baseball season that runs from May to July.
We will do our best to work around travel baseball schedules but CANNOT garauntee there will not be conflict.
Information is shared below regarding our knowledge of the season structure.
Coaches are TBD.
The season will consist of 10 Games
We will start around 3/23 (weather and field availability dependent).
The season is slated to end by or on 5/1.
Potential weekday games will start at 5:30 PM. Play 2 hours, 7 innings, or until dark.
We will have games the weekends of 3/21 and 3/28 to help get season in. Likely double headers.
Practices will likely be at Pleasureville Hawks field 2 nights per week. Games will be at Cousler 4.
Following PIAA rules except:
- BBCOR or -5 bats allowed
- Continuous batting order. Can bat 9 or entire team or anyone in between.
- Free defensive subs.
- Pitching rules will follow MLB Pitch Smart Chart
- Courtesy runner - last batted out or sub.
We will be working around CSY's home game schedule at Cousler Field 4.
